Hello Ruby-Sue!

Back in October 2011 I heard about this ridiculously cute looking pup who was found dumped in a box on the side of the road, rescued, and then brought to the Montreal SPCA. Soon after she was transferred to Eleven Eleven Animal Rescue; a no-kill, foster home-based animal rescue in Montreal. They quickly discovered that Ruby-Sue had a birth defect which prevents her from bending her knees. But before you start feeling bad for her -- stop. Stop right now. This hasn't stopped Ruby-Sue from getting into all kinds of shenanigans and woo'ing her way out of them, 'cuz that's just what puppies do.

Now almost 18 months old, Ruby-Sue is just like any other dog; she runs, she plays, and if cuddling were an Olympic sport she would win gold -- hands down. She loves other dogs and cats, but her heart truly belongs to children. And yet despite all of these amazing qualities, Ruby-Sue isn't allowed in Ontario due to Bull Shit Law Breed Specific Legislation because she's a a pit bull mix. With her "disability" and our ridiculous laws based on fear mongering, one would think the odds would be stacked against Ruby-Sue, but rescue folks and animal lovers don't give up that easily.

  1. She is so freakin' sweet! I wish I could convince the man that we really need a 3rd dog (I do live in Quebec now). I will put a link about her to my blog.

    OMD, she's pawesome... when we read about her over at Hailey and Phod's blog, we thought they were going to say she became a therapy dog... not that she had to face BSL. We have that same BSL here in Miami... We tried to defeat it this summer, no luck. :(

    She deserves nothing less than a stellar forever home.
