Adopted: Coco goes home.

Coco with her new guinea pig friend

And just like that, she was gone with the wind.

Six weeks ago this little 10 year old muppet was homeless, having been dumped off at a shelter because the people she called family no longer had time for her, and now she has a forever home with a real family who will love her, cherish her and fill her little belly with noms and rubs.

Someone asked me if I was sad to see her go, and as always, the answer is yes. However I've learned a couple of things since Wyatt's adoption. For whatever reason his leaving hit me particularly hard and it took a while to bounce back. Since then I've managed to keep my heart at a safe distance when we bring home a new foster because, for me, that's the only way to survive adoption day without turning into a puddle of mel goo. So I managed to say goodbye to Coco on Saturday without tearing up, and it was a happy time for everyone. Her new family reports that Coco is settling in well and they absolutely love her.

I just want to hug the living daylights out of everyone who has adopted my foster monsters.

    1. I can't wait to meet the next foster monster. Not sure which rescue it will be through - but I guess we'll see!
