| Coco with her new guinea pig friend |
And just like that, she was gone with the wind.
Six weeks ago this little 10 year old muppet was homeless, having been dumped off at a shelter because the people she called family no longer had time for her, and now she has a forever home with a real family who will love her, cherish her and fill her little belly with noms and rubs.
Someone asked me if I was sad to see her go, and as always, the answer is yes. However I've learned a couple of things since Wyatt's adoption. For whatever reason his leaving hit me particularly hard and it took a while to bounce back. Since then I've managed to keep my heart at a safe distance when we bring home a new foster because, for me, that's the only way to survive adoption day without turning into a puddle of mel goo. So I managed to say goodbye to Coco on Saturday without tearing up, and it was a happy time for everyone. Her new family reports that Coco is settling in well and they absolutely love her.
I just want to hug the living daylights out of everyone who has adopted my foster monsters.

I am so happy for Coco, she deserves a loving family. Proud of you for not turning into goo. It really is a happy time for Coco.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read about the next monster!
I can't wait to meet the next foster monster. Not sure which rescue it will be through - but I guess we'll see!
